Hotel Aspen invites you to experience Aspen like a local. Choose from a variety of free activities led by our friendly knowledgeable staff and experience a side of Aspen you might otherwise never discover. Activities are casual and fun, and allow you to meet locals, make friends and try new activities. 

Allana's Photo Workshop

Mondays, 5:00 - 7:00 pm (Meet at Hotel Aspen pool deck)
Guests walk through Aspen’s charming, historic West End neighborhood, focusing on a photographic theme. Allana, the hotel’s social coordinator and an accomplished photographer, advises participants on photo framing, light and camera use. She also shares amusing anecdotes about the area and its residents. The best participant photo is chosen each week, and shared on the hotel’s website and on Facebook and Twitter. The lucky winner will receive a prize. 

Barclay’s Buddies/Waggin’ Wednesdays

Wednesdays, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Hotel Aspen's guests can benefit from this pet-friendly event at our sister hotel, the Molly Gibson Lodge.  The Molly's mascot Barclay Brown, the resident Goldendoodle, along with a staff member each Wednesday in walking dogs from the Aspen Animal Shelter. The dog walk is followed by Waggin’ Wednesday, a pet- and family-friendly happy hour and BBQ on the Molly’s back lawn. Locals and guests are invited to bring their pups and come by for a hot dog and a beer.

Afternoon Opera

Enjoy an hour of beautiful opera classics sung by Hotel Aspen front desk agent Lisa Sanders. Sanders, who holds a Master’s in opera from the University of Chicago, will wow locals and guests as they enjoy wine and cheese on Hotel Aspen’s tree-shaded pool deck.

Smuggler Mountain Bike Ride

Join General Manager Jeff Bay on an intermediate mountain bike ride on Smuggler Mountain and through the Hunter Creek Valley. Enjoy classic single track, beautiful views and a bit of history along the way.

Aspen Historical Society

Fridays, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. (Meet at the Molly Gibson Lodge pool deck)
Hotel Aspen guests are also welcome to join in on the Aspen Historical Society’s Vice President of Programs & Education, who dresses in character and gives a fun and informative talk on the history of Aspen.
