Aspen's best kept secret is our beautiful summers. Enjoy a range of Annual Events which begin in June and take us all the way through September. Summer brings warm days and cooler nights, the perfect balance to enjoy the mountains and your fun filled adventures.
2019 SUMMER EVENTS
Snowmass Free Concert Series (June 8-August 22, 2019)
A Snowmass summer tradition 27 years in the making, the Snowmass Free Concert Series is a must-do music event. Every Thursday evening (and two bonus Saturdays), locals and visitors alike gather on Fanny Hill to enjoy some of the country’s best live bands in a relaxed atmosphere with a spectacular mountain backdrop.
Snowmass Rodeo (June 12-August 21, 2019)
Celebrating its 45th year of Western tradition in 2018, the Snowmass Rodeo is one of the longest running rodeos in Colorado. This authentic Western event includes a BBQ, bull riding, team roping, barrel racing and bronc riding. Kids can compete in the calf scramble or try their hand at mutton bustin’. There’s even a petting zoo and a mechanical bull. Top off the night with marshmallows around a cozy campfire. BBQ begins at 5:00pm, and the Rodeo begins at 7:00pm every Wednesday rain or shine.
Aspen Saturday Market (June 15 - October 5, 2019)
Join visitors and locals on Saturdays at the Farmers Market in downtown Aspen. Buy some local Colorado produce, crafts or grab some lunch from the food vendors. This is a great way to enjoy a leisurely Saturday in Aspen.
Aspen Music Festival and School (June 27 - August 18, 2019)
Classical Music in our Rocky Mountain setting is like no other. Whether you are a classical music aficionado or a novice, this Festival will keep you coming back for more.
Farm to Table Tuesdays at Elk Camp (July 10 - August 21, 2019)
Enjoy beautiful summer nights at Elk Camp during Farm to Table Tuesdays. Featuring complimentary Elk Camp Gondola rides (free service begins at 4:00 pm), a locally-sourced à la carte menu by Chef Bradley Murphy, local beer and distillery tastings, full cash bar, outdoor family activities, and Lost Forest activities available for a fee.

FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen (June 14-16, 2019)
The Aspen Food & Wine Classic is one of the nation's most prestigious epicurean events. Culinary stars show their passion for food, wine and entertaining. More than 300 Vintners pour premium wines complimented by specialty foods from around the world. Join leading chefs including Mario Batali, Jacques Pépin, and noted wine authorities such as Joshua Wesson for three inspiring days of wine tastings, cooking demonstrations and special events.
JAS Aspen Snowmass (June 20-23, 2019)
This iconic music event brings the hottest new musicians and some classic favorites to downtown Aspen, Colorado. Kick off the summer, June 20-23, with live music featuring Taj Mahal Quartet, Booker T. Jones, Patti Austin, Jacob Collier, Richard Bona, Jose James, Bria Skonberg, Etienne Charles, Cha Wa, Organ Freeman, Jamison Ross B3 Trio, Wycliffe Gordon & Friends and more!
Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration (July 4, 2019)
Aspen celebrates Independence Day with a whimsical twist. Each year, approximately 20,000 local residents and visitors come together to honor the nation's birthday in true American style. Festivities include a parade, concerts, and spectacular fireworks over Aspen Mountain.
Aspen Arts Festival (July 20-21, 2019)
Aspen Chamber Resort Association is proud to join Howard Alan Events in hosting the Aspen Arts Festival. Aspen's spectacular mountain setting provides a wonderful "open art gallery" to over 170 exhibitors offering jewelry, pottery, sculpture, glass, ceramics, paintings, prints and more!
Audi Power of Four Trail Run & Mountain Bike Races (July 13 + August 17, 2019)
The Audi Power of Four Race Series is a premier endurance race series utilizing the unique and amazing trail selection the upper Roaring Fork Valley has to offer. Each race is designed to test the limits and skills of both elite and recreational athletes.
Spartan’s Mountain Series (August 3-4, 2019)
Spartan will bring you across the craggy terrain of the Colorado Rockies as you conquer an Ultra, Beast or Sprint. This course is part of Spartan’s Mountain Series, presented by the U.S. Air Force Special Ops. With origins in the legendary mountain races of Europe, these courses are designed for seasoned athletes and weekend hikers alike.
Aspen Backcountry Marathon (August 10, 2019)
Utilizing the beautiful trails that surround Aspen, offering two options, a full or heavy half-marathon, both run almost exclusively on dirt trails. The diversity of terrain, challenging ascents & descents and overall elevation gain will challenge even the most well-trained athletes. With spectacular views of the Elk Mountains above and the city of Aspen below, this is one race you’ll be sure to remember!
VIDA Women's MTB Series Skills Clinic (August 17-18, 2019)
VIDA's Flagship 2-day Clinic will take your riding to the next level. This immersive experience gives you the opportunity to connect with your coaches and dive into the nitty-gritty when it comes to proper form on the bike. What's more, your coaches will help you gain the confidence you need to tackle the next challenge.
Big Mountain Enduro Finals (August 17-20, 2019)
Aspen Snowmass will host the BME Finals for 2019. The two-day event will blend high altitude riding adventures mixed with some of the biggest descents and best riding in the area, some of which trails seldom open to the public. Expect a heavy pro field and new and revised courses from previous years. The combination of Aspen Mountain, Snowmass Bike Park terrain and the surrounding trails within the valley offer some of the most diverse mountain biking in the country.
JAS Aspen Snowmass (August 30 - September 1, 2019)
This favorite Labor Day music event brings the hottest new musicians to Snowmass Village, Colorado for an unforgettable weekend of music in the mountains. Top off the summer, August 30-September 1, 2019, with live music featuring Weezer, John Mayer, Sting, Portugal the Man, Luke Combs, H.E.R., ZZ Ward, and Turkuaz.
Snowmass Balloon Festival (September 6-8, 2019)
The Snowmass Balloon Festival fills the sky with one of the highest-altitude balloon events in the country. Over three days, 30 pilots compete in challenges such as a distance race that covers the whole Roaring Fork Valley. All Balloon Festival events are free.
Snowmass Wine Festival (September 14, 2019)
Set amongst the breathtaking scenery of Snowmass Village, the Snowmass Wine Festival features a four-course wine dinner on Friday night and a Grand Tasting event on Saturday afternoon offering a wide array of the world’s top wines as well as cuisine from the Valley’s favorite restaurants. Enjoy live music and take part in the Silent Auction filled with tempting items from local shops and restaurants, acclaimed wines and fine artwork. Funds raised are allocated to non-profit organizations across the Roaring Fork Valley, charitable organizations worldwide, and for High School Senior scholarships.
Golden Leaf Half Marathon (September 28, 2019)
The Golden Leaf is one of the most beautiful foot races in the Rockies. In the height of the picturesque fall colors of Colorado, the Aspen Trees will guide runners on this challenging course. The course traverses from Snowmass Village to Aspen on mountain trails and roads with fabulous mountain views. The trail can be narrow and steep at times with elevation gains of 970 feet peaking at 9,400 feet in elevation.
The Aspen Chamber Resort Association is always working to create and attract special events that draw local, regional and destination visitors to Aspen. The ACRA is proud to produce five local events throughout the year that delight locals and visitors alike
